Today is a Numeric Palindrome

Today has a date format which is a numeric palindrome. Or, a palindromic number. Or, a palindromic number sequence. Fun, if you’re in to such things as I am, sequences and syntax and such. Or alliteration. Or sentence fragments.

I hadn’t noticed when I saved this daily Instagram post, because I use a format with letters for the month: 22MAR23. Harder to see a palindrome there.

Palindrome is a “word, phrase, etc., that reads the same backwards as forwards.” (Shorter OED, 5th Ed)

Every day this week (and part of next) will also be a palindrome date!

I LOVE THIS, thank you for writing. Patterns patterns patterns. To see them is human. To see them in the future is divine.

Your column reminds me of an odometer with only the third, or middle, digit advancing. Palindrome Central!
