Eisenhower Hall for book launch!
Good morning!
It’s here.
Raising Athena: A Mother and Daughter Attend West Point Thirty Years Apart officially launched Tuesday at West Point, where the Athena’s Arena Conference marked fifty years of women at the federal service academies.
There was no better place to be on launch day.
Raising Athena is a memoir about my daughter and me — two generations, thirty years apart. It’s about what it means to raise a daughter into something larger than yourself, and what she teaches you in return.
The ebook is $0.99 for launch promotion. You can read it on any phone, tablet, or computer. The hardcover and paperback are available as well.
If you’ve been following along — thank you. This one took over eight years.
I met many friends and made many new ones. Thank you for coming to see me, for sharing your stories and learning about mine.
Here are some of the photos.

These books were my “mentors” — West Point authors who helped me by sharing their own stories. And especially to Amy Efaw Gamm who helped make this book better. Thank you, a thousand thank yous.
